The game sometimes introduces new elements to vary the platforming and puzzles, but overall the gameplay stays pretty similar through the whole journey.Įven though I didn't really enjoy my time with the game, nothing it does it bad I think, it just lacks excitement or interest to really be worth playing in my opinion. There are also occasional flashbacks about the character's past and some audio logs that gradually reveal what happened to the planet.

The game quickly becomes a series of small environmental puzzles and platforming sections, sometimes you're just travelling through canyons, other times it's fairly large areas with subtle environmental clues where to go like it did at the very start. Some of the environments are semi-interesting, but most are barren and bland. And I mean a really really long way, the environments are huge. Quickly you find that something bad has happened to the people that were on the planet and you'll need to journey a long frickin way to try to survive yourself. The way the game doesn't signpost is its best feature I think.
The first thing the game did, which I liked, is to leave you directionless about where to travel except for some subtle clues in the environment. The premise is you're an astronaut who crash lands on a planet the Russians have colonized. It started out decent, I kept going hoping it would get better, it kinda did but never by enough to make me feel at the end like it had been a good experience.
